Philips HN 110 Folding Noise-Canceling Headphones

January 13th, 2011 by admin

68 customers from Amazon had rated 5-stars for the Philips HN 110 Noise Cancellation Headphones. Most people agree that for the price and performance these are almost unbeatable Many customers mentioned that the noise cancelling function headphones are at the top of the class.

Furthermore, a few customers also compared the Philips HN 110 Noise Cancellation Headphones to expensive headphones such as Bose and Sennheiser, they mentioned that there wasn’t really much difference between these headphones and the super expensive headphones! Some people might find it hard to believe but coming to think of it, Philips does not spend lots of money on advertising as compared to Bose or expensive brands. They are basically inept at everything but making things.

When shopping for headphones, sound quality is definitely important for music lovers. At least 5 customers compared the Philips HN 110 Noise Cancellation Headphones to the Sennhiesers and Bose headphones and all of them agree that these Philips headphones sounded almost, if not as good as those expensive headphones.

When talking about the noise cancelling function, you have to understand that no headphones in the world can FULLY block out all sound from the environment. This function is more to reduce low frequency sound. After running through most of the reviews on Amazon, I saw that at least 80% of customers agreed that this pair of headphones also have good noise cancelling. It is is excellent in those conditions, blocking the sounds of treadmills and ellipticals

In terms of comfort, it is really subjective to individuals as everyone has got different ear sizes. There are mixed responses to whether these headphones are comfortable after wearing for hours. However, most customers claimed that these headphones are really comfortable even after wearing them for long hours. So if you often need to travel for long hours, this pair of comfortable headphones might be for you.

The biggest complaints I came across was customers mentioning that the Philips HN 110 Noise Cancellation Headphones seemed to be flimsy and the cushions can fall off or the bars might snap if handled roughly. Another thing is the battery life for noise cancellation is low and affects sound quality when batteries are low.

Philips SHS8000 Premium Sound Earhook Headphones

January 5th, 2011 by admin

If you are looking for a pair of comfortable headphones with great sound, then the Philips SHS8000 Premium Sound Earhook Headphones is for you. One customer mentioned that even after wearing this headphones for five hours on flight, they still felt perfectly comfortable. Quite a few reviewers on Amazon commented that the earhooks fits nicely to your ears and it is very secure as well.Furthermore, it also comes with three different cap sizes which ensures a perfect seal to improve the sound quality. Some of the key features of this headphones are passive noise isolation which provides better sound at lower volume.

Many of the customers also mentioned that you can actually run in these with out having to press them back in your ear constantly or worry about them falling out of your ears. The Philips SHS8000 Sound Earhook Headphones are light, flexible, comfortable and deliver decent sound. They stay on well even though they don’t wrap around my ear tightly.

Also, they don’t have the problem of the cord making the thudding sound. They are a delight to run with, I might start using them all the time. They stay on well even though they don’t wrap around your ear tightly. Also, they don’t have the problem of the cord making the thudding sound. They are a delight to run with, I might start using them all the time. Many people who bought this headphones actually used it the gym as well. Therefore, I would recommend these headphones to anyone who works out.

The only complaint I came across was these headphones aren’t exactly noise-cancelling however they do a decent job of blocking out ambient noise.

If you are upgrading from the crappy headphones that comes together with your Apple Ipod, you will definitely be satisfied with these buds. The sound is much clearer, louder, crisper and overall better. However, if you are coming down from a $300 pair of buds you will not be impressed at all. At $55.99, the Philips SHS8000 Premium Sound Earhook Headphones is definitely value for money!

Philips SHN9500 Active Noise-Canceling headphones Review

December 30th, 2010 by admin

A bit of background before I talk about the Philips SHN9500 Noise-Canceling headphones – I’m a college student that lives in a dorm, and as a result, there is occasionally some loud floormates that live in our hall. As a result, I sought out for a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones so that I can study and watch TV in peace.

The Philips SHN9500 Noise-Canceling headphone is one of the several headphones that I had narrowed down to. I finally decided to settle on this pair of headphones for two reasons: quality and price. First let me tell you about the quality of the headphones.

The Philips SHN9500 Noise-Canceling headphone are very comfortable, as they have to cushion around the ear pieces that ensure that the headphones surround your ear, but no so much that it puts constant pressure. The headphones are comfortable to wear for even long periods of time, so if you’re watching TV or doing homework and don’t want to hear your roomates or floormates, this pair is excellent for you.

The noise-cancelling feature also works great, but if it’s too quiet it can be a little annoying at times. The headphones work great if you’re using it to listen to some music as well. Another reason I chose this set was because of the price. Compared to the other headphones I had in my pool, this wasn’t the cheapest, but for the quality that I had read about it seemed to be the one that was the perfect noise canceling headphones that I was looking for.

The sound quality isn’t the absolute top best that you would get if you had paid for an extremely expensive headset, but it is definitely “up there.” The quality of the sound is very good, and there is also good bass and tremble response.

For the price that you pay for the headset, the sound quality, durability, and reliability of this headset is very good. On a closing note, if you’re looking for a good pair of noise-cancelling headsets but aren’t willing to part out with a ton of money or simply need a good pair of headphones to block out some annoying noises (read: roomates!), then the Philips SHN9500 Noise-Canceling headphone that you’re looking for! You don’t end up spending a ton of money with this pair of headphones, and for a college student like me, it’s the best pair of noise-cancelling headphones that money can buy for me!

Philips/Nike Aero SHJ070 Feather Light and Secure Neckband Headphones

December 29th, 2010 by admin

The Philips/Nike Aero SHJ070 Headphones are overall rated by reviewers on Amazon as being one of the best workout headphones on the market. The comfort and practicality of the neckband along with high quality sound are consistently mentioned by most who have reviewed the product. Many compared these headphones to the more traditional ear bud style headphones and highlighted that unlike other designs, these headphones stay securely in place. One reviewer commented that the headphones even stay in place while he is upside down.

The Philips/Nike Aero SHJ070 Feather Light and Secure Neckband Headphones appear to exceptionally meet the needs of athletes and runners with its comfortable and secure design. It is most recommended by reviewers who work out in the gym or run for hours at a time. The light weight extra large speakers deliver high quality sound while still maintaining comfort. Special Nike Air-pad cushions are designed with sporting comfort in mind. The rubber material is durable and dries quickly from intensive workouts and is easy to clean. The ease of cleaning the non-foam earpieces was mentioned by several reviewers. The headphones are indeed lightweight weighing in at 0.35 pounds. The headphones also include longer cable and cable management tool making them perfect for your MP3 player while running or your CD player on the treadmill.

Another unique sporting feature of these headphones is the rear cable exit that prevents the cord from being an obstacle while doing activities. A reviewer did comment that this was not always a positive thing as the cord would snag and stretch tight when sitting and standing positions were changed.

A few reviewers mentioned disappointment in that they felt the headphones did not last as long as they should with one citing only a 2-3 month lifespan. Another reviewer stated they has lasted a year but felt it should have been longer based on the price. One reviewer commented that he believes they may have shorted out from sweat while another reasoned that headphones have a short life span and the price is more than the useful life of the product. Overall, the reviews on this product are good.

If you are looking for a pair of reliable headphones used during physical activity and sports, these headphones are should be suitable for you as it is comfortable and sound quality is good. However, be aware that the Philips/Nike Aero SHJ070 Headphones might have a short lifespan when used vigorously.
